World Tourism Day 2020: Jammu and Kashmir organises sports events to revive travel sector

On the event of World Tourism Day, the Tourism Department of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday sorted out different exercises including water sports and the 'Shikara race' in Dal Lake, Srinagar. 

The division has approached to arrange the occasion to launch the travel industry exercises in the Union Territory in the midst of the Covid pandemic. 

Nisar Ahmad Wani, Director Tourism, Kashmir stated, "We are praising the event over the Union Territory. We have sports exercises and social projects at different places of interest like Srinagar, Gulmarg." 

Coronavirus pandemic lockdown brought about the conclusion of the apparent multitude of organizations in the valley. The travel industry segment was additionally seriously influenced. Yet, presently during the open stage, the travel industry division has begun returning as they follow SOPs presented by Jammu and Kashmir organization. 

"Our intention is to help the travel industry division and spread the message that Kashmir is prepared for the travel industry. The area was affected due to COVID however now the organization has presented standard working systems (SOPs) for the travel industry part. It will help the sightseers here to contain the spread of the infection during their visit," Wani included. 

The organization took the choice to help the travel industry part with a lot more projects in the coming days. They are sorting out these projects in different celebrated vacationer locations in Kashmir to welcome sightseers to go to the Union Territory. 

"We are likewise advancing the travel industry area in different states including Delhi and Mumbai inviting individuals to visit the Union Territory," he said. 

On the event, Bilki Shamir, National Coach of Kayaking and Canoeing said that the organization has sorted out the program. During the program, individuals will see exercises like Kayaking, Canoeing, Shikara race, surfing.
